Oscar-winning director, and husband of diver Tom Daley, Dustin Black, has claimed he was wrongly accused of shoplifting at a Gold Coast Woolworths.
Black, who is in Australia supporting his husband as he competes at the Commonwealth Games, took to Twitter to complain about the ordeal.
‘OMG! Was just stopped and accused of shoplifting [at Woolworths] in the Gold Coast!’ he started.
‘Then out of countless folks with bags a search was demanded of mine. Thanks for the warm welcome to Australia Woolworths! Respect customers’ privacy much? Shame.’
The tweet was alongside a picture of the supermarket chain with a big ‘no sign’ covering it.
He followed up his original tweet with another saying he did not receive an apology from anyone working at the supermarket chain.
‘No apology at all. Just an accusatory zombie-like look in their eyes. So I just got a refund for the drink I’d just PURCHASED and went elsewhere. So silly. Tourists be warned!’ he wrote.
‘I didn’t know if I should shout or laugh. Was sure I was on candid camera. Warning all tourists! Steer clear of this very strange place.’

Black won an Academy Award for the 2008 film Milk. He and Daley married in 2017. In February, the couple announced they were having a baby.
