Dreamworld shock: ‘Warnings ignored’ the day of fatal accident

Four people died on that fateful day

Dreamworld boss Craig Davidson has revealed that the Thunder River Rapids ride was NOT shut down for maintenance on the day four park-goers were killed.

While confessing that the attraction had stopped a couple of times, the CEO admitted that the ride was not actually taken offline for repairs. The revelation has resulted in newspaper headlines today suggesting that ‘warnings were ignored’ on the day of the tragedy.

On that day we had not shut down the ride for maintenance, he said during a radio interview on the ABC. But the ride had stopped a couple of times throughout the day.

Davidson declined to go into details on why the ride stopped, citing the ongoing investigation into the accident as the reason for his silence.

It has been confirmed that the ride will now be demolished out of respect for the four victims, Kate Goodchild, Luke Dorsett, Roozi Araghi and Cindy Low, whose lives were tragically stolen on that very sad day.
