He was one of TV’s most recognisable faces in the 1990s, and now Dougie the Pizza Boy is back!
WATCH: The advert that might have you wondering where 25 years went
It’s hard to believe it’s been a quarter century since smiling pizza delivery worker Dougie — played by Diarmid Heidenreich — graced our screens, but now he’s back in a new advert aimed squarely at nostalgia buffs.
Now into his mi-forties, former heartthrob Dougie might be barely recognisable to many – the young man delivering him his pizza utters a gratuitous ‘Dougie!’ as he answers the door to help viewers along – but there’s that familiar red cap to jog our memories.

While the sight of middle aged man still wearing that ubiquitous 90s teen accessory, a baseball cap, might turn many stomachs, at least the pizza is fresh – with the company flogging its new Hot Dot promotion.
Diarmid was a familiar face on TV back in the 90s and beyond – also starring on Home and Away, Water Rats, Packed to the Rafters, and Underbelly: The Golden Mile.
Returning to Pizza Hut is a big deal for the actor, whose time promoting the company came to the end after a controversial car accident tainted by allegations of drug use.
