No that’s not a Ziggy Stardust-era David Bowie – the TV star who is stunning viewers with their take on the late great music icon is in fact X-Files actress Gillian Anderson.
Almost unrecognisable in drag, Gillian plays the beloved rocker in highly-praised fantasy series American Gods.
In the much-raved-about show she is also seen as Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball.
Fans of the series are loving Gillian’s work, with one raving on Twitter, ‘Gillian Anderson as David Bowie is everything I didn’t know I needed in my life’.
American Gods – which has garnered plenty of attention for including the most explicit gay sex scene ever shown on mainstream TV – is based on the 2001 novel of the same name.
