Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are staring down the barrel of a big-bucks divorce battle, according to published reports in the US today.
The pair is said to have had an almighty bust-up over 52-year-old Brad’s recent solo trip to Europe, where he sunned himself in Croatia, while Angelina, 41, was begging him to spend the remainder of the summer with their children at Chateau Miraval in France.
‘When Brad walked out the door, she feared she’d lost him for good,’ a source tells Life & Style magazine.
‘He was drinking cocktails and acting like a carefree, single man on vacation,” notes a witness.
Now, a friend has apparently told the publication that ‘a divorce is underway’ and the pair is beginning the painful process of dividing up their assets – worth more than $400m – and their six children.
‘The children will always be their chief property,’ says a friend. ‘They will keep up the happy mom and dad facade for them.”
The couple have yet to comment on the claims.
