David Cassidy of The Partridge Family fame has entered rehab after being sentenced to two years of probation for an earlier DUI hit-and-run.
The 66-year-old has been receiving treatment for addiction at a Florida rehab centre to avoid violating his probation, which prohibits him from drinking or using drugs.
David’s rehab stay was revealed when his Chapter 11 bankruptcy documents were revealed earlier this month.
The musician wrote a $793.99 cheque to Recovery Unplugged last month, a program offering ‘music-based treatment’ that gives patients ‘a well-rounded recovery experience’, according to the treatment facility’s website.
The facility provides treatment for addictions including alcohol, cocaine, heroin, prescription pills and many other issues.
It’s been a troubling year for the disgraced star.
In March David had his license suspended for five years after colliding with a vehicle on a Florida highway and subsequently fled the scene.
Along with the probation and a license suspension, a judge ordered Cassidy to be subjected to random breath and urine tests at his expense. If the singer breaks his probation, he could face jail time.
