BAFTA winner Dev Patel revealed he perfected his Aussie accent for the movie Lion by watching episodes of Australian Masterchef!
The Brit star, who appears alongside Nicole Kidman in the hit movie about an Indian boy adopted by a Tasmanian couple, won best leading actor at the UK’s BAFTA awards.
Speaking before Sunday night’s ceremony, he said: “To change the way I sound, that took a good eight months.
“It was eight months of solid repetition [and] I watched a lot of Australian Masterchef!”
But the accent is now long gone.
“It went from my brain as soon as it was done,” he said.
Dev posed with Nicole, who was showing off major cleavage in a designer V-cut top, on the red carpet in London.
