It’s official; Delta Goodrem is in love.
But the new man in question? Her four-month old nephew, Nate!
“I am besotted,” the 32-year-old gushed in a recent interview with Stellar magazine. “He came to [my] concert, and I was in so much trouble as Aunty Delta. [I said] ‘We’ll stay up late,’ and my brother was like, ‘He’s not going to sleep tonight.”
But it’s not the first time the Born To Try singer has admitted the tiny tot has stolen her heart. Goodrem took to Twitter in October to share a snap of the new addition, captioning the adorable pic, “NATE L. GOODREM. Welcome to the world my little nephew #littleprince the cuteness of photos are stacking up… I had to share one J xx”
So has the arrival of baby Nate made The Voice coach keen to have children of her own sometime soon?
“I am just so happy loving on him,” she says.
“I look forward to that time, but it’s not right now. I’m enjoying getting into music and being really empowered in what I’m getting to do. I know when I do [become a mum], I will give it my everything.”
In recent months Delta has been linked to a series of eligible bachelors, including Andy Lee, Karl Stefanovic and Drew Mitchell. But for now, Goodrem reveals she’s no longer interested in discussing her love life or letting dating rumours affect her.
“I’m really proud to say I’ve learnt I don’t want to be the person who talks about that,” she said.
“I’ve learnt that’s not who I am. When I look back at certain chapters in my life, I think, that’s not who I am, that’s not the core of me, I don’t have to do that.”
