What Has Courteney Cox Had Done?

It’s been twenty-five years since Courteney Cox debuted on Friends as Monica, and while she looks a little different, she still looks absolutely amazing.

Let’s not get it twisted, Courteney Cox was a beautiful woman before she had any work done on her face. Here’s a picture of her from her first big recurring role on a TV series as Lauren Miller in Family Ties.

Maybe it’s the adorable 80s look, maybe it’s the fact that she was in her early 20s, but with the big hair and the dazzling eyes, she looks absolutely amazing.

Friends Season 1 As Monica Geller in 1994

Courteney Cox was 30 years old when she first took on the role of Monica in Friends, but she sure doesn’t look 30!

In her first iconic role, Courteney sports a much less 80s hairstyle, and it definitely suits her face. Her first appearance on the hit TV series may be very different from Courteney Cox now, but the years have treated her well.

After four years of playing Monica on Friends, Courteney Cox still looks pretty, but she has decided to go for a more mature look. Her no-nonsense hairstyle and thin, angular eyebrows complement her shockingly blue eyes.

In her late 30s, and Courteney Cox actually looks much younger than she is. Though she still sports the same angled eyebrows, they’re a bit thicker and her hair has changed both style and colour, and the lighter tone looks incredibly fitting on her. Her hairstyle also frames her face really well.

In 2005, Courteney went back to black and opted for a more natural look. There isn’t a lot of makeup on her in this pic, and it shows her confidence. Her eyes are still incredibly clear and amazingly blue, and the smile lines around them really look nice.

At 45 years of age, Courteney Cox looks remarkably younger than she is. This point in time probably marked the start of Courteney Cox’ plastic surgery journey, and honestly, this look does suit her. Her jet-black hair is a nice contrast to her skin, and while she has had some Botox injections and fillers at this point, they’re very tastefully done.

In 2010, Courteney Cox’ face still looks incredibly young for 46. She looks very natural in the show Cougar Town. Although she may have gotten fillers in her cheeks, it only complements the way she smiles, especially in this photo.

At this point, it is a little bit obvious that Courteney has had work done, but she still looks great. Though her face still looks a bit ‘done,’ it’s hard to argue that she doesn’t look stellar for a 47-year-old. Her eyes are definitely the highlight of her face, but the soft black curls frame her visage much more gracefully than before.

At 49 years old she still looks stunning! This is probably the best look that Courteney’s had in her late 40s, although if you look closely, there’s a little wrinkle on the left side of her nose that might be from Botox freezing her face muscles.

Once again, her eyes are impossibly bright, and her hair is looking the best it ever has.

A lot of people think that Courteney has had work done specifically because of this photo. Many media outlets criticised Courteney for getting plastic surgery done, but it’s really not too bad. Although Courteney Cox’ fillers are a little bit obvious, it doesn’t take away from the fact that she’s still a very pretty lady.

At this point, the 54-year-old star has accepted that she’s getting older, and has decided to let her fillers dissolve. While Courteney Cox’s botox is still present, it doesn’t look bad at all. Her cheeks look much softer and more natural and this complements her smile. While she may still have opted for a lip injection, it’s tastefully done and not over-the-top.

If this is the ‘after’ picture in her before and after story, then it’s a big step forward for the gracefully aging star.

Why Did Courteney Cox Get Plastic Surgery?

The Friends star has had a lot of reinforcement that beauty is paramount throughout her life. In an interview with New Beauty magazine, she reveals that “[she] grew up thinking that appearance was the most important thing. That’s kind of sad because it got me in trouble. I was trying so hard to keep up, and I actually made things worse.”

In the same interview, she says that trying to keep up” led to her overdoing the botox and fillers. She reveals that her initial dabbling snowballed a little bit out of control. “Well, what would end up happening is that you go to a doctor who would say, ‘You look great, but what would help is a little injection here or filler there.’ So you walk out and you don’t look so bad and you think, no one noticed—it’s good…[But] the next thing you know, you’re layered and layered and layered.”

Did She Regret It?

While Courteney Cox has denied seeing a plastic surgeon to go under the knife, she has had her fillers removed. She explains that “I’ve had all my fillers dissolved. I’m as natural as I can be. I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do.”

While she does regret going overboard with her treatments, this may not be the end of her transformation journey. “I don’t know what the future holds, but I know I want to stay natural. But, they come up with new stuff all the time—it’s crazy how many new machines are out there.”
