Late Home and Away icon Cornelia Frances’ son releases heartbreaking message

She was an icon of Australian TV, and former Home and Away favourite Cornelia Frances is being fondly remembered today, one year after her tragic passing from cancer.

Taking to Instagram, the star’s son, Lawrence Eastland, has paid tribute to the woman who brought Morag Bellingham – and a legion of other popular characters in shows such as The Young Doctors and Sons and Daughters – to life for fans around the world.

‘One year ago today I held your hands as you passed away, it was one of the biggest days of my life and not a single second has gone by with out me missing you insanely,’ Lawrence posted on Instagram.

‘I still feel you around me my dear beautiful mum! Lost but never forgotten.’

The star, who passed aged 77, endured a brave battle with cancer after first being diagnosed with the disease in her liver back in 2017.

Laurence spoke of Cornelia’s last moments, describing her as ‘so peaceful, soft and serene.

‘I truly love this woman,’ he added.
