If fans of the reality TV show have their way, the 51-year-old could become next season’s leading lady.

At the time of publishing, the veteran star had over 7.8k signatures on a petition being created on Change.org, after the idea was suggested on an ABC Radio talkback show featuring Virginia Trioli on Monday.

The comedian is known for her lacklustre dating history, which she regularly discusses in her acts.

Fans of the show and of Judith were excited writing comments on the petition page.

“It would make the show interesting. Stop with the 20 somethings :)” one wrote.

Another added: “The Bachelor/Bachelorette is sorely in need of more diversity to make it relatable. I’m tired of seeing Eastern Suburbs clones.”

“Let’s have some age diversity, more POCS…people with disabilities, body shape diversity! More real people please,” another commented.

Channel Ten may welcome a new type of woman to take on the role, as they have had a number of hit and misses when it comes to the casting in past seasons.

Ali Oetjen failed to pull in huge ratings while she found love with former bank manager, Taite Radley.

Although former Bardot star Sophie Monk – who had an established media career prior to the show – did become a ratings success.

While Judith’s fans are petitioning for her to join the dating show, she may have a rival in The Bachelor “villain”, Abbie Chatfield.

Speaking this week the reality TV star, who missed out on love with Matt Agnew last season, has admitted she’d love to be the next Bachelorette.

“I would love to be Bachelorette,” she told Sydney Confidential.

But I think it’s a really hard gig because you’re basically by yourself … I’d definitely consider (it though), I think it would be lots of fun.”
