The Crown star, Claire Foy has confirmed the sad news she has split form her actor husband, Stephen Campbell Moore after four years of marriage.
The shock announcement from the 33 year old actress – who plays the Queen in the hit Netflix series about the British royal family – comes just months after Moore underwent lifesaving surgery to remove a brain tumour.
The actor also had another tumour removed five years ago.
Confirming their breakup in a joint statement, Foy and Moore said:
“We have separated and have been for some time.
“We do however continue as great friends with the utmost respect for one another.”
A source told The Sun that “After seven years together this came as a real shock to many of their friends, but they’re lovely people and are determined to keep everything civilised.
“Obviously it has been a very sad period for both of them, and for their wider families.
“But they are wonderful parents, intelligent and both successful in their own right.
“They’ve just decided that unfortunately their relationship simply wasn’t working and that this would be for the best.”
The couple met on the set of the movie Season of the Witch in 2011 and went on to wed in 2014.
They share a two year old daughter together.
Foy previously told the Daily Mail that she had been worried about her 38 year old husband’s health all through the filming of season two The Crown.
