Chris Lilley is facing public backlash after re-posting a ‘racist’ video showing him dressed in black face while being ‘squashed’ by a truck.
The inappropriate joke comes just days after the man who ran over and killed 14-year-old Aboriginal boy, Elijah Doughty, in remote Western Australia last year was acquitted of manslaughter.
The unnamed man was chasing the youngster in a high-powered 4WD after he stole his motorbike before running him over.
Lilley’s ‘Squashed N****’ video – in which the comedian, who is dressed in ‘black face’ is run over by a truck – was first released in 2014, however this time round it was slammed on social media.
The public outrage toward the comedian continued after the video and all of his social media pages were taken down.
‘And while a lot of us mourn the death of young Elijah, this guy releases a song about a black kid getting run over. F**k Chris Lilley,’ one man wrote.
‘I’m not here to tell you all how to twitter but if we could put in some effort and get ‘Chris Lilley racist’ trending, I would be grateful,’ said another.
‘Chris Lilley can delete the posts, block people, delete the tweets, but he can’t delete the immeasurable amount of hurt he has caused,’ one woman wrote.
