Chezzi Denyer: Grant and I have been apart 312 days

It seems the motor racing driver turned TV presenter’s wife is set to run the show.

Grant Denyer is home after four nights away for work, so the house is in an uproar. The Family Feud host is keeping his cute daughters busy building forts and cubbies out of cushions, and the noise is deafening.

‘It’s manic here, but it’s always worse when Grant is around,’ laughs long-suffering wife Chezzi, who is effectively a single mum most of the time due to her husband’s crazy workload.

‘Last year Grant was only home six weeks out of the whole year – with all his motor racing and TV commitments – so it wasn’t long.’

Chezzi has her hands full with Sailor, six, and ‘ratbag’ Scout, nearly two.

Add a hyperactive cavoodle named Princess Popcorn and a herd of miniature Highland cattle, plus a few chickens, and it’s a wonder she’s still sane.

Yet the former Sunrise producer – obviously a glutton for punishment – is set to launch her own online chat show Mummy Time TV on Thursday. An actual mothers’ group on camera, it’s a passion project self-funded by the Denyers
and fuelled by Chezzi’s desire
to connect with other mums feeling the strain of parenthood.

‘Grant was back on the road and most of my friends didn’t have babies. I really felt quite isolated, especially at night,’ she said.

‘I couldn’t believe there was nothing like it.’
