Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again star Cher has revealed that her bizarre fling with actor Tom Cruise was due to bonding over having dyslexia.
Radar Online reported that the 72-year-old diva had hooked up with Tom Cruise when he she was 38-years-old after being invited to to an event held by Ronald Regan at the White House for people with dyslexia. Cruise was just 22-years-old at the time but already a star through Risky Business, and the event was more of a reunion for the pair as they had previously met at Sean Penn and Madonna’s wedding in 1985.
Speaking of the event, she revealed, “A bunch of people who were dyslexic were invited to the White House, and Tom and I are both dyslexic.”
Cher admitted that there wasn’t an immediate spark but “there definitely was a connection there” and they ended up going out later.
Although she is currently single, she confirmed that the pair are still on good terms as she is with most former lovers.
Cher has admitted to being hopeful of finding love in the future and the she is “still on the lookout,” but the problem she has with dating is that there is no privacy and “no way to keep something… special.”
She revealed, “I don’t want to go any place with them because you can’t keep a relationship going in this kind of goldfish bowl, where everything you do and every picture you have taken will be on Instagram.”
