Celine Dion has opened up about her plans to pay tribute to her late husband Rene Angelil with a tattoo.
Having been wary of getting ink in the past for fear of regret, the singer says she is contemplating getting a tattoo of her husband’s heartbeat to honour him after he passed away of throat cancer in January.
‘Since my husband passed away, they can make a tattoo [of] his heartbeat, so I might have his heartbeat on my body for the rest of my life,’ she tells Vogue, adding: ‘I’ve seen so many people that they have tattoos when they’re young, and then they get older and it changes… It’s goin’ down. It’s gravity baby.’
The 47-year-old recently made an emotional return to her hometown of Montreal as part of her current tour, revealing she is doing as well as can be expected given the circumstances.
‘I’m really doing well. I guess if I’m fine, my kids are fine. If my kids are fine, I’m fine, and that’s the most important thing,’ said the mum of Rene-Charles, 15, and twins Eddy and Nelson, five.
‘I have to stand strong for today and for my kids, for myself, [and] what’s to come for tomorrow.’
