Carrie Fisher’s cause of death is being hushed up to prevent people finding out about her final drugs binge, according to a shocking report today in US magazine Globe.
The Star Wars screen legend suffered a heart attack on a plane from London to Los Angeles over Christmas and died a short time later. According to the magazine, her death is said to have been triggered by her relapsing into using drink and drugs, but a coroner’s report is not likely to be made public.
A source told Globe: ‘No one wants the truth to get out. They hope Carrie’s final heartbreaking drug scandal will be buried with her.
‘The events surrounding her death are being covered up.’
Carrie made no secret of her past problems with drugs and alcohol when she was alive, writing about it in autobiographical books and a stage play.
She had said: ‘I used to think I was a drug addict, pure and simple – just someone who could not stop taking drugs wilfully.’
After Carrie passed away on December 27, she was tragically followed a day later by her mother, Singing in the Rain actress Debbie Reynolds.
Only a day before she died, she reportedly told a friend: ‘No mother should ever have to plan their own daughter’s funeral.’
