Carrie Fisher’s death certificate has been made available online – confirming aspects of her death, but leaving others open to question.
The document notes that she definitely passed as a result of a cardiac arrest, reportedly sustained as her London to Los Angeles flight was just 15 minutes to touch down. However it also clarifies that the full cause has been deferred – meaning that investigators are still trying to determine any causal factors that may have provoked the fatal cardiac episode.
According to US website TMZ, investigators are testing tissue samples to find out what drugs may have been in her system at the time of death.
As well as being on a cocktail of prescription medication to control her health issues, Carrie had confessed to battling addictions to illegal drugs in the past. While she was part of an abstinence program, it is unknown if Carrie was successfully managing her condition in recent months.
