Austereo have confirmed they are looking at Carrie Bickmore to take over Hamish and Andy’s slot on the radio.
The Project host was reportedly offered $1.5 million dollars to replace the comedic duo’s drive time slot.
Austereo’s chief creative officer Guy Dobson said her success with her radio show on the Hit Network, which she co-hosts with Tommy Little, has made her a prime candidate for replacing Hamish and Andy.
‘Carrie and Tommy have done extremely well for us and audiences love them,’ Guy said to The Sydney Morning Herald.
‘They’re in the box seat, but we are talking to lots of people.’
Hamish and Andy will finish up their on-air radio commitments at the end of the year so they can pursue other projects, including their TV show True Story.
It’s unclear whether Carrie would leave The Project if she were to replace Hamish and Andy’s radio slot.
