Although she rarely looks anything other than happy, Carrie Bickmore has given a revealing glimpse into how tough she’s finding life with a newborn.
The TV star posted a screen grab of a conversation between her and a family member who messaged her at 4.42am, writing, ‘Sending you love if you are awake xoxox’, to which she replied, ‘Been awake since 1.30’.
In the caption, The Project presenter explained how the sweet message of support had arrived at just the right time.
‘It’s the simple things,’ she wrote. ‘This message from my cousin was exactly what I needed in the middle of the night when Adelaide wouldn’t settle and I was feeling horrendous with mastitis. The middle of the night can be such a lonely time as my cousin knows all too well with her own kids.’
Later, Carrie also paid tribute to her partner Chris Walker in another post, praising him for looking after their two week old baby, wrangling their ‘cray cray’ 3-year-old, Evie, and entertaining 11-year-old Oliver while she rested and recovered from the often painful infection suffered by many new mums.
