Carrie Bickmore’s heartbreaking confession

'The Project' host opens about a subject close to her heart

Despite losing her husband to cancer nearly six years ago, Carrie Bickmore has revealed that the pain is still just as pertinent.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, The Project host confesses:

‘The sadness — that awful sense of loss — never entirely goes away.

‘I don’t know if I want it to though.

‘It’s a strange thing, but I guess it’s wanting to know that person is still with you in some way’.

Greg Lang lost his battle with brain cancer just two days after Christmas in 2010 after a lengthy fight.

The couple had one son, Ollie, together – Carrie also has 18-month-old Evie with her new partner, Chris Walker.

However, there has been some respite for the 38-year-old TV star; following on from her Logies acceptance speech in 2015, where she encouraged everyone to wear a beanie in support of brain cancer, Carrie launched her charity Carrie’s Beanies For Brain Cancer.

‘The foundation has given me a positive place to channel a lot of the feelings I have.,’ she said.

‘I’m humbled by everyone’s support and generosity. I can’t believe we’ve raised $1.2 million in just over a year’.

‘I feel fortunate to be part of it and It’s also a real legacy for Greg and a legacy for Ollie as well’.

Thanks to the popularity of the charity, Carrie has been able to donate $250,000 to the Neuroscience Foundation for a vital research project.
