Camilla Parker-Bowles has opened up about her affair with Prince Charles in an interview with You magazine.
The Duchess of Cornwall had the affair with Charles while she was still married to Andrew Parker-Bowles and he was married to the late Princess Diana.
‘I couldn’t really go anywhere. But the children came and went as normal — they just got on with it, and so did great friends,’ the 69-year-old revealed. ‘It was horrid. It was a deeply unpleasant time and I wouldn’t want to put my worst enemy through it. I couldn’t have survived it without my family.’

Her son, Tom explained: ‘The paparazzi used to follow us everywhere and lurk around like spooks. We used to keep binoculars in my mother’s bathroom, and one of us would look out every morning to see how many paparazzi were hiding in the bushes. We could tell by the flash of sun on their camera lenses. At the peak [of interest in Camilla], there would be half a dozen hiding outside. It seemed entirely normal.’
Charles and Camilla reportedly dated in the 70s, and again in the 80s despite Charles marrying Diana in 1981.
Charles himself admitted in his biography they rekindled their love in 1996 after his marriage to Diana broke down.

Camilla and Andrew Parker-Bowles also divorced that same year.
Tragically in 1997, Princess Diana was killed in a car accident in Paris, further derailing their attempts to repair the negative press their relationship received.
But finally, in 2005, almost a decade after they both got divorced, they announced their engagement and married within months.
