Cameron Diaz’s dreams of becoming a mum are going nowhere, and the 44-year-old actress is just devastated, according to a report today in US magazine the National Enquirer.
“She’s desperate for a baby, but instead she’s become a stepmother figure to all her friends’ kids,” says a source of the star, who is married to rocker Benji Madden. “That must hurt. Cameron seems to have lost so much of her independence, and that was the source of her self-esteem.”
While Benji is being loving and supportive, Cameron is reportedly also struggling with the apparent decline of her career.
The Sex Tape star, who the publication claims was recently pictured leaving a Los Angeles building that houses therapists and counsellors, has reportedly turned to therapy as a means to cope with her stalled career as well.
“It seems to be helping because she’s still going to sessions,” The Enquirer’s source says. “But it must be tough for Cameron not to be queen of the hill anymore, and not work at the pace she was used to.”
Cameron’s last movie role was in the 2014 remake of Annie.
Adds the source: “It’s been years since she had a hit movie.”
Cameron has yet to respond to the Enquirer‘s claims.
