For the 15 months they dated, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris always maintained a strict level of privacy around their relationship.
But now, just 24 hours after news of their split, Calvin Harris has broken his silence on Twitter by revealing the truth about their breakup.
‘The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect,’ the Scottish DJ wrote on June 2.
And although Taylor has remained silent on the matter, she did retweet her now ex-boyfriend’s statement – suggesting that there are no hard feelings between the pair.
However, despite their outwardly united front, insiders have shed light on what they believe really caused the split – insisting that it came down to a simple case of jealousy on Calvin’s part.
‘[Calvin] said on multiple occasions that he was intimidated by Taylor, which is why he would not attend any events where she was being honoured or any award shows unless he was nominated,’ one of Taylor’s pals tells People.
Calvin’s statement comes just hours before Taylor’s bestie Gigi Hadid revealed she’s also split from boyfriend of seven months Zayn Malik. Is there something in the water in Hollywood?
