They were the queens of TV in the eighties with their groundbreaking female cop drama Cagney & Lacey, and actresses Tyne Daly, 70, and Sharon Gless, 73, still have that special chemistry – taking to the stage to sing together at America’s Democrat National Convention.
The stars’ talent isn’t just restricted to busting criminals – although they did plenty of that on the top-rating drama between 1982 and 1988. This time they won over the crowd as they sang ‘What The World Needs Now’ – possibly suggesting that Democrat Hillary Clinton’s presidential rival Donald Trump could do with spreading more love than he has been lately.
The women reunited in 1994 for a TV movie, but it seems there’s still plenty of demand to see them strutting their stuff together again. Go ladies!
