Britney Spears has reportedly tied the knot in a secret shotgun ceremony in Hawaii, according to sensational claims in an American publication today. Sources tell US OK magazine the 35-year-old singer and her hunky boyfriend of six months, Sam Asghari, 23, eloped because she’s got her dream baby on the way.
‘It might seem crazy after such a short time, but everyone in her life says they’ve never seen her this happy,’ says OK’s insider, who adds that their April getaway to Hawaii is the most likely backdrop for their elopement. ‘Getting married secretly is just the sort of stung she’d pull. Only now she’s in a stable place emotionally.’
There’s no doubt Britney’s had her share of disasters when it comes to men. She shocked the world with a Vegas elopement in 2004 to her childhood friend Jason Alexander – a union that lasted 55 hours – before walking up the aisle that same year with Kevin Federline after three months of dating.
Britney admitted last year she’d ‘been through horrible relationships’ but insisted that ‘I still believe in love. I’m a hopeless romantic’.
Sources say Britney’s father Jamie won’t be happy if she’s tied the knot without a prenup. ‘Having a new boyfriend is one thing, but getting married and having a baby with someone she’s only known a few months would not fly. It affects her estate and will.’
However it’s no secret Britney, whose run in Vegas ends this year, is desperate for more kids, telling James Corden during a Carpool Karaoke sessions she wants ‘more [kids], like three more’.
As for toy boy Sam, who she met on the set of her video ‘Slumber Party’, Britney hasn’t stopped gushing about him. ‘She’s totally mad for him,’ says OK’s source.
‘He’s not too clever, like her last guy [Charlie Ebersol], and not too ambitious like Jason [Trawick, her ex-fiance]. And he’s great with her boys, which is always her number one priority. There’s no way she’d pull the trigger on marrying Sam without asking Sean and Jayden and friends say they’ve already told her she should propose to him!
‘Brit’s been wrong in the past, but she’s telling friends she’s not afraid of being wrong this time – and that she’s never loved a man like she loves him.’
Britney has yet to confirm nor deny OK’s report.
