It was no surprise to Chris when his mother Yvonne declined an invitation to his wedding to partner Grant.
However, the 39-year-old reveals to New Idea he was devastated when his father Geoff refused to attend the Palm Springs nuptials.
‘I understood my mum’s reasoning and justification for it but my dad has never told me why,’ Chris tells us.
The Sydney-sider explains he can understand his mother’s response given she is a devout Jehovah’s Witness, however, Chris’ dad offered no reason for rejecting his son.
‘In that meeting he didn’t really tell me why, he just said, “I believe the same but for different reasons”,’ Chris recalls.
‘So as soon as my mum told me her answer, I was like, “yep, got that”, and I gave it straight to dad and asked for his beliefs but I didn’t really get an answer.’
