Kanye West has been rushed to the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles following several days of erratic behavior.
According to TMZ, police attended his home on Monday afternoon Pacific Standard Time [Tuesday morning Australian time] to perform a welfare check, which resulted in him being transported to the hospital.
Despite Kanye cancelling his LA show three hours before he was due on stage yesterday, his wife Kim Kardashian was seen around the same time boarding their private jet to attend a red-carpet event in New York City. As the news broke, Kim, along with several other members of her family, was due to make her first official public appearance at Denise Rich’s Angel Ball in Manhattan, where she is expected to accept an award that honors her late father, Robert.
Kanye’s shock hospitalisation comes after a string of on-stage meltdowns. In Sacramento at the weekend he stormed off stage after just three songs after launching a bizarre rant against his former best friend Jay-Z. Two nights earlier in San Jose, he also declared that if he had voted in America’s presidential election, he would have supported Donald Trump.
