The secret’s out! Filming is now underway in Sydney for the second season of Channel Seven’s The Secret Daughter starring Jessica Mauboy.
Jess will reprise her Logie-nominated role of Billie Carter, the part-time country pub singer whose life was changed forever after a chance meeting with wealthy city hotelier Jack Norton.
Season two will start with Billie, who has turned her back on the Nortons and a record deal, and she is left wondering who she is and where she belongs. Billie will begin her journey of self-discovery.
Also returning to the popular family drama for Season 2 are Matt Levett (A Place To Call Home, Devil’s Playground), David Field (Catching Milat, No Activity), Rachel Gordon (Winter, The Moodys), Bonnie Sveen (Home and Away), Jared Turner (The Shannara Chronicles, The Almighty Johnsons), Jordan Hare (EMO the Musical), Terry Serio (Janet King) and J.R. Reyne (Neighbours).
Joining them will be new cast members James Sweeny (Molly, Neighbours) and Rachael Maza (Radiance).
Season 1 of THE SECRET DAUGHTER was the #2 Australian drama of 2016 (behind Seven’s WANTED), with a combined average audience of 1.645 million viewers.
