Brad Pitt has won a victory in his custody battle now that Angelina Jolie has agreed to joint custody of their six children, US publication In Touch reports.
“Angie has dropped her bid for sole custody,” a source tells the publication. “It was a huge blow, but she has to accept it because there is just no basis for Brad to not have the kids at least half of the time. This is what joint custody is going to look like.”
Things have calmed down ever since the actor was cleared by the FBI and DCFS of physical and child abuse, and Brad has become “a much more prominent figure in the kids’ lives, and they seem to be doing a lot better now that things have calmed down,” says the source.
“He’s recently had two different overnights with two kids without being monitored, and he’s hoping to have them for at least a week at a time by the end of February or early March.”
The eldest sons, Maddox, 15, and Pax, 13, are taking things slower with the source adding: “They haven’t spent the night. Those relationships are still very tenuous, and Brad really hasn’t had a breakthrough with the boys yet.”
As for Angelina, the source says: “It’s unlikely she would ever admit that she was wrong or apologise to Brad or anyone else for actions she has taken.”
