An explosive new interview out of the US alleges that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s relationship was over two years ago – and Ange’s paranoid obsession with Brad’s jilted ex-wife Jennifer Aniston played a huge role.
Ian Halperin, who wrote 2009 biography Brangelina: The Untold Story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie tells Star magazine that the pair had been plagued with cheating issues and that from 2014 – not long after their wedding – it had become a ‘marriage of convenience and appearances’.
‘They used to believe they could trust each other with their innermost secrets. But with the breakdown of their marriage came the resulting suspicions, on both their parts, that the other was cheating,’ says Ian, who is preparing to follow his book with a documentary. He says he’s spoken to 140 associates of the former couple in the course of his research.
‘I’ve been told they both regularly accused each other of being unfaithful. Apparently, the thought of cheating was just about driving them both to the edge of paranoia,’ he says.
And it wasn’t even current co-stars or colleagues driving a wedge between the pair – it was their mutual exes Jennifer Aniston and Billy Bob Thornton!
‘I truly believe that Angie always harboured fears that Brad and Jen were secretly in contact,’ says Ian. ‘The fact that Angie’s former hubby Billy Bob was always very public about how they were still good friends weighed heavily on Brad, as well. I believe they lost their desire and respect for each other. It was evident their relationship was a ticking time bomb.’
