Chrissie Swan fell flat with adored international icon Boy George this morning – with the pop legend having none of it when she ever-so-sweetly probed him about his sobriety.
Swan’s schtick didn’t wash with George when she reportedly abruptly raised the fraught issue of alcohol consumption during a radio interview.
‘Is that your starting point?’ no-nonsense George responded, before fearlessly telling her she ‘needed to get out more’.
Pointing out that he was being asked about booze before the clock had even struck nine, George quipped, ‘What, are you Judy Garland?’
Apparently attempting to defuse the situation by talking about her family, the Big Brother graduate responded, ‘No, I’ve got three kids, I get up at 4:30 in the morning, I have no life.’
A renowned survivor, George has been completely sober for nine years, having beaten addiction – and now even avoids processed sugar. He has spoken numerous times in the past about not wanting to be continually defined by past struggles.
