Boy George has attacked George Michael’s Australian boyfriend, only to start a Twitter war with users of the social media network calling him “biphobic”.
The 55-year-old singer took to Twitter to express his skepticism over the ‘hacking’ of Fadi Fawaz’s account last week.
Tweets were posted only hours after George Michael’s death on the account stating that his boyfriend wanted to die, and had tried numerous times in the past. Fawaz denies that he wrote the tweets, and claims that his account was hacked.
In the now deleted tweet, Boy George wrote ““Ok. ‘My computer got hacked’ is like ‘I’m bisexual’ or ‘I’m sniffing because I have allergies’”
Twitter users were quick to slam the Culture Club frontman who said that bisexual people should be recognised the same as all the other letters in LGBT, and not be ridiculed.
Boy George was unapologetic at first, tweeting that “Lot’s (sic) of people use ‘bisexual’ when they really mean gay.”
However, as more and more social media users started attacking what he tweeted – the singer’s tone changed.
George then decided to start blocking people who attacked him.
Fadi Fawaz has not commented on Boy George’s initial tweet.
