Terri’s hometown is abuzz with chatter that Bindi Irwin and her boyfriend Chandler Powell are planning to return to picturesque Eugene, Oregon, to replicate her parents’ romantic wedding ceremony, complete with her mum’s dress, the same church – and even similarly furry friends on the guest list!
New Idea can exclusively reveal that the young couple, who met in 2013, have made several secret visits to the state in the US’ north-west, where Bindi has strong family ties.
Pastor Dan Hallgrimson, who married Steve and Terri Irwin in 1992 and remains a long-time friend of the family, has confirmed he is preparing to come out of retirement to perform the ceremony.
‘I’m still around!’ he tells us exclusively. ‘I would come out of retirement for Bindi. I would do whatever she needed to help her.’
