Now, Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bailik has opened up about her own battle with anxiety, depression and OCD.
“I have lots of things that I get to work on in therapy,” she told The Fix.
“As someone in the public eye, I’ve had to get used to situations where there is a lot of attention and pressure on you, and I’m a lot better with dealing with them now that I am more comfortable with myself as I mature.”
In an interview with Glamour magazine back in May, the notoriously private star also revealed that her family has a history with the disease.
“There’s a lot that goes on that people don’t get to see,” she said. “Those are the things I’m not always posting about on social media.”
But through her struggle to overcome her demons, the actress has learnt one very important lesson: It’s OK not to be OK.
“Mental health should be as valued as going to the gym or eating right or exercising or any of those things,” she told the publication.
“Understanding what you came from, in terms of your childhood, what your motivations are, is so important.”
