Hit show in jeopardy

It may be one of the most popular shows on TV, but the future of The Big Bang Theory has been left in serious doubt as contract negotiations with the stars continue to struggle, creating growing fears the show is doomed.

While studio execs scramble to get the show to its 11th season, CBS Entertainment President Glenn Gellar admits to the Hollywood Reporter the sitcom is in danger of getting the axe.

‘[Contract talks] are continuing; it is tough but kind of normal negotiations,’ he said. ‘We are guardedly optimistic about it.’

With key stars Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons having negotiated salaries of $1 million per episode back in 2014, the cast are reportedly seeking even more money this time around, putting the show in jeopardy.

‘We are very confident that everyone involved wants more Big Bang past year 10 and I know Warner Bros. will make those deals,’ said Glenn back in August.
