Just last week it was revealed that Beyoncé and Jay Z’s twins were being held in hospital over a “minor issue.”
But now, there are grave fears for the health of the newborns.
According to TMZ, the babies arrived “prematurely” with a source close to the famous family explaining they are being treated for jaundice.
The source also added that the new additions are being kept “under the lights,” in a process called phototherapy that’s designed to eliminate high levels of bilirubin in the blood.
While jaundice is quite common in newborns and twins that aren’t carried to full-term, if left untreated, the condition can be very dangerous.
While reps for the pair have yet to comment on the news, it follows a cryptic social media post shared by Beyoncé’s mum that has some fans questioning whether or not the babies have even been born yet.
Tina Lawson took to Instagram on Sunday – one day after the alleged arrival of the twins in Los Angeles – to share that she was in New York for a friend’s son’s wedding.
“God lets things happen in his time not ours! Try not to rush him!” she captioned the post.
