Betty White is allegedly battling a crippling illness and friends fear the 95-year-old is in a serious way, The National Enquirer is sensationally reporting today.
The former Golden Girls star was recently rushed to her doctor’s office after collapsing at her home from a dizzy spell, according to the publication.
“This is likely the result of arteriosclerosis,” Dr. Stuart Fischer, a New York-based internist who doesn’t treat Betty himself, tells The Enquirer. “People of advanced age like Betty are forced to endure inflammatory chemicals that overwhelm the body, causing rapidly narrowing arteries that force a rapid blood pressure drop and explain the collapse.
“She’s driving herself too hard and needs a round-the-clock nurse to monitor her condition, or it will likely lead to an imminent and potentially fatal heart attack or stroke.”
Says a friend, “Betty’s working a timetable that someone 20 or 30 years her junior could barely cope with. We’re terrified she’s killing herself.”
Although a rep says there was no emergency and Betty’s not overworked, she’s believed to be suffering from other health issues according to The Enquirer.
The star has yet to respond to the Enquirer‘s allegations.
