Aussie director Baz Luhrmann looked virtually unrecognisable as he stepped up to accept an honorary gong at the 2016 Clio Awards at the American Museum of Natural History this week.
The star, who shot to fame with the 1992 film Strictly Ballroom, before graduating to major Hollywood success with Moulin Rouge! and The Great Gatsby, was sporting an oddly smooth and, frankly strange-looking, face that bore only a passing resemblance to the rougher but charming Baz of old.
Whatever is going on with the eccentric star – who is now based in New York – the good news is that Moulin Rouge is to become a stage musical – surely a dream come true for the famously theatrical artiste.
