The gossip gods are shining down on our souls today, as we have been gifted the most epic piece of Bachelorette news.
It turns out that one of the boys vying for Georgia Love’s heart actually has a wife already.
OK! Magazine have revealed that Rhys Chilton is still married. His estranged wife, Kelsi, has come out of the woodwork to drop a Bachelor bombshell bigger than model Sam’s ego.
As “estranged wives” usually go, she’s not particularly fond of her soon-to-be ex husband.
“He only cares about himself… and should not be dating that beautiful girl Georgia [Love],” she told the publication.
Kelsi also explained that their relationship was turbulent, and said that her return to the US from Brisbane just months after marrying Rhys was riddled with ongoing disputes.
She further explained that it wasn’t until earlier this year that Rhys asked to formalise their separation, and apparently she had “no clue” he would soon be filming The Bachelorette.
Rhys Chilton released a statement, via Network Ten:
“Kelsi and I were in love and got married but unfortunately for us it didn’t work out. We have been separated for over two years and the details are currently being finalised. I’ve not dated since Kelsi and The Bachelorette Australia was an opportunity, albeit unorthodox, to see if I was ready to meet somebody. I have explained my reason to Georgia for being here and I feel she understands. Kelsi is a great girl and I’ve always wanted to see her happy in life.”
