Loved up Richie and Alex held court on radio’s Kyle and Jackie O Show this morning – where they encountered first hand some of the huge public hostility that has been brewing over his rejection of Nikki.
They took a call from one incensed listener, who ranted, ‘Congratulations Richie, you’re the most hated man in the country.’
To his credit, Richie handled it like a pro, as the caller let rip, raging, ‘You led Nikki on. You made her believe she had a chance. You should have at least had the balls to do an Olena and tell her right up front she wasn’t going to win.’
Bachelor beauty Alex intervened, explaining of the show, ‘That’s not how the show works.’
Taking centre stage, Richie expounded on his rather predictable motives for stringing the tearful blonde along.
‘You do realise you’re watching a TV show called The Bachelor, where I date 25 women?’ he blurted.
When the caller said they ‘completely understand’ the concept of the show, Richie snapped back, ‘Well clearly not.
‘But nah, it’s all good darl. Well done.’
And there you have it. It was all for TV drama.
