Bachelor in Paradise contestant, Nathan Favro, was arrested – and that’s not the worst of it!
According to the Daily Telegraph, the 24-year-old, who also appeared on Ali Oetjen’s season of the Bachelorette, was caught drink driving in Bryon Bay on February 9.
The newspaper reports that around 3am police pulled Nathan over after he failed to stop at a give way sign.
A breathalyser test revealed a reading of .147, and Nathan lost his licence on the spot…but the drama didn’t end there.
The officers put Nathan in the back seat of the police car to drive him to Byron Bay Police station, but during the ride he tried to escape.
The police say: “Favro flung off his seatbelt and attempted to open the rear nearside passenger door by pushing hard on the door a number of times and also moving the handle up and down rapidly. Favro was attempting to flee from the vehicle.”
But his escape was thwarted by the car’s child lock!
The police reported that Favro realised his mistake immediately, and said to the officers: “Yeah that was stupid I know.”
Nathan attended Manly Local Court today on one charge of mid-range drinking driving.
The BIP star has lost his licence for three months, received a fine of $800 and will have an interlock device installed in his car when he gets his licence back.
