Are you not entertained? Bachelor In Paradise bumped to later time slot

Bring on the pots and pans...

Is young love not doing it for you? What about expletive-ridden fights? Or endless bikinis and biceps?

If you answered “no” to all of the above, you’ll be excited to know Bachelor In Paradise has been bumped to a later time slot to make way for a reality TV favourite.

As of April 30, BIP will air at 8:40pm instead of its usual 7:30pm Tuesday to Thursday air time.

In its place is MasterChef Australia.

However, a Channel 10 spokesperson insists the move has nothing to do with the Bachelor and Bachelorette spinoffs’ poor ratings.

“The launch date of MasterChef Australia is always a late decision so it’s after the [Channel Seven’s] My Kitchen Rules finale,” the spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph.

“With MasterChef starting on Monday 29 April, our prime time schedule from Tuesday to Thursdays will go from one audience favourite to another.”

According to OzTAM figures, BIP’s premiere brought in 553,000 metro viewers across the five major capital cities – down 150,000 from last year.

To put this into perspective, Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight attracted an average 1.4 million viewers per episode.
