TV stars are accustomed to living life under the glare of the spotlight, but even the biggest small screen sensations are not immune to making headlines for the wrong reasons.

Kym Valentine
In 2013, Neighbours actress Kym Valentine – who played Karl and Susan Kennedy’s good girl daughter Libby – slapped the show’s producers Freemantle Media Australia with a lawsuit.
Ms Valentine alleged she had suffered sex and disability discrimination after she became ill with pneumonia in 2008, The Sun UK reports.
The star claimed she suffered “pain and humiliation” when producers replaced her with another actress, but the case was settled out of court and Kym even returned to Ramsay Street for a short stint in 2014.
Keiren Noonan
In May, former Home and Away star Keiren Noonan was accused of breaking a police woman’s nose in a bar brawl in Sydney.
The Irish-born tradesman turned actor, who appeared as Spike in five episodes of the long running Channel 7 soap, was drinking at a pub in Darling Harbour in the early hours of the morning when he was asked to leave by venue security.
He refused the request and was approached by two plain-clothes police offers.
Mr Noonan was reportedly “intoxicated” when he got into a “physical altercation” with police causing a female officer to start “bleeding from the nose” while the other arrested him.
Mr Noonan was granted bail but was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, assault on police, resisting arrest, use of offensive licence and failure to quit a licenced premises.
Nick Cummins
Sports star turned reality TV hunk Nick Cummins initially captured the hearts of Australian viewers on The Bachelor last year.
But ‘The Honey Badger’s’ popularity plummeted when he broke the hearts of Brittany Hockley and Sophie Tieman in the series finale, failing to find love – and thereby failing the whole premise of the show.
The Honey Badger became one of Australia’s most notorious TV stars in 2018.
Karl Stefanovic
Channel Nine golden boy Karl Stefanovic found himself in hot water in March 2018 when an Uber driver revealed details of a 45-minute phone call which took place while his brother Peter and wife Sylvia Jeffreys, both also employed by the Nine Network, were travelling in his car.
Speaking exclusively to New Idea, the driver spilled about the conversation which saw Karl vent his frustration about his Today Show co-host Georgie Gardiner, as well as colleagues Richard Wilkins, Mark Burrows and Nine executives.
Peter, who co-hosted Today Weekend and worked as reporter on 60 Minutes at the time of the controversy, reportedly declared he “hated his job” among other complaints.
In the wake of the scandal, Karl was axed from his longtime hosting gig on The Today Show.
