Aussie star Josh Thomas ditched by Hollywood A-lister over shock email

This is awkward!

Josh Thomas, creator of ABCs Please Like Me had a life changing moment earlier this year when Girls’ creator Lena Dunham tweeted out her love and adoration of his show.

When interviewed by News Corp, Lena was very vocal about her support for Josh and his show.

‘The sense of humour is just so high level,’ Lena gushed. ‘And I would love to work with him.’

‘I’m like this is the best thing I’ve seen, why is no one talking about this,’ Lena went on. ‘It’s truly amazing and the fact that it’s not winning every Emmy in the world is insane.’

Since then, the two creatives struck up an email conversation and started to plan an official meeting in person. But when Lena kept cancelling their meet-ups, Josh voiced his opinion and now the two aren’t on speaking terms.

‘I thought me and her were going to be friends,’ Josh admitted while being interviewed on The Project. ‘We were going to hang out a few times but she kept having to cancel to get surgery on her uterus.’

‘I sent her an email saying, “You know for such an outspoken feminist, you sure do blame a lot of things on your uterus.”’

Lena has suffered from endometriosis – a chronic condition that affects the reproductive organs – since she was a teenager.

Josh’s email was intended as a joke but it seems Lena didn’t receive it that way.

‘She didn’t reply,’ Josh admitted. ‘But that’s a funny joke, right?….Like it was clear I was kidding, right?’
