After the horrific attack on Ariana Grande’s Manchester concert, the pop star visited the victims and their families and put on a star-studded show to raise money for those affected.

In total, the sold out show raised over $13 million, which is an incredible feat, one that Ariana didn’t have to do, but wanted to for her fans.

As a thank you to Ariana, Manchester plans to make the star an honourary Manchester citizen.

The Guardian reports that the city wants to properly thank her for her “great many selfless acts and demonstrations of community spirit” after the tragedy.

The leader of Manchester city council, Sir Richard Leese, said that Ariana reacted to the event with “love and courage.”

“I think many people would already consider her an honorary Mancunian and we would be delighted, if the council approves the proposal, to make it official.”

The Guardian adds that “honourary citizenship” is the highest honour that a city can give to someone.
