Speaking with Andrew Denton on Channel 7’s Interview last night, the star recounted the aftermath of the violent passing of his son, whose life was tragically taken, allegedly during an altercation with a friend, in November last year.

‘I am not angry. I am just profoundly sad,’ the star said of his life since the incident.

‘The bad days are awful. Sometimes I just don’t leave the house. Nothing can describe those first terrible days.’

The rock icon said that he had taught all of his children to first and foremost be kind to others – an attribute he says was in play when Liam attempted to help a friend in distress the night he died.

‘I can’t think about those last moments,’ an emotional Angry said of his son’s death.

‘But one thing I did say in the press, just to right some wrong things that were being printed, was that the way he was raised is what got him into that situation. He was looking after somebody.

‘And so do I regret that? How could I possibly regret that? He was the man I wanted him to be.’

The interview was at times highly emotional, with a tearful Angry at one point saying, ‘I can’t do this, I’m sorry.’

The star’s daughter Roxanne clarified that although the family is struggling, they still have moment of joy in their lives, and they are pulling together to get through.

‘We still have happiness, regardless of something that has been so tragic for us,’ she explained to Denton.

‘If anything, it’s taken the love each other and the appreciation for each other to a whole other level.’
