Angelina Jolie has given a final message to Brad Pitt, and a final word on the dissolution of their marriage, by officially dropping Pitt from her once hyphenated surname.
The star’s decision has been confirmed in court papers, which show she will once again be known simply as Angelina Jolie.
‘Angelina wants to put the marriage behind her now, and she’s sending a message by getting rid of Brad’s name,’ says a Hollywood insider.
‘She’s done with Brad forever and she’s once again her own person.’
The ruling declared both actors legally single, a process known as bifurcation, which was an outcome they had both requested.
The couple married in 2014 and filed for divorce in 2016, having first met in 2004. They have six children — Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 12, and 10-year-olds Vivienne and Knox.
‘Both parents are focused on what’s best for the kids,’ a source told People.
