With Brad Pitt turning up at Jennifer Aniston’s 50th birthday, everyone is wondering what Angelina Jolie will make of it.
Recent history shows that Angelina wasn’t thrilled by the duo’s connection.
Just days before their second wedding anniversary, a devastated Angelina reportedly caught then-hubby Brad Pitt deep in conversation with ex-wife – forcing the couple’s already troubled marriage into crisis.
A report in US magazine In Touch at the time claimed Brad and Angelina had just returned to LA when Ange found him finishing up a call in the bedroom and ‘talking in a low voice’. When Ange grilled him on the call, that magazine reports she was ‘thunderstruck’ to learn it was none other than Jen – and he was calling to see how she was coping after the death of her mother in April.
‘Brad wanted to see how she was doing,’ said the magazine’s source. ‘She accused Brad of sneaking behind her back with Jen and yelled that he’d ruined all their new plans for the future.’
‘Suddenly, their 11-year relationship is back in jeopardy,’ says the source.
The report claimed Brad tried to argue that it’s one rule for him and another for her, with her ongoing friendships with Billy Bob Thornton and Johnny Lee Miller, however Ange’s greatest fear is karma will catch up to her and Jen will steal Brad back. It couldn’t have come at worse time.
‘Brad and Ange were planning to adopt a seventh child to celebrate saving their marriage,’ added In Touch’s insider. ‘They’re back to icy glares and stony silences, like there were a few months ago. That phone call was a betrayal as far as Angelina’s concerned.’
Of course the couple eventually split – and now he’s back in Jennifer’s good graces. Whatever Angelina thinks of their reunion, insiders say she won’t be making a public comment anytime soon.
