Amanda Knox has celebrated the five-year anniversary of walking free from prison by going Facebook official with her boyfriend of eight months, Christopher Robinson.
The now 29-year-old was thrust into the worldwide spotlight in 2007 when she and then-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito became the prime suspects in the brutal murder of her flatmate, Meredith Kercher, in Perugia, Italy.
The announcement comes just days after Netflix aired a new documentary about the infamous case, which Amanda has been promoting heavily on the talk show circuit in the States.
While she first disclosed her relationship with writer Christopher several months ago, revealing that the couple of just five months were moving in together, her decision to make it official during a time when the spotlight is very much back on her every move is rather telling.
During an appearance on Good Morning America on September 29, the infamous ‘star’, who spent almost four years behind bars before her conviction was finally overturned once and for all in March last year, opened up about this new chapter of her life.
‘Now my attention is turning towards the next person. My name is cleared. I’m fine, I’m moving on with my life, I’m going back to graduate school, I’m redeveloping my relationships,’ she explained.
‘But there remains the fact that I’m in a unique position as an exoneree. Once an exoneree always an exoneree. I can’t go back to my life that I had before, and neither can the other exonerees that are out there. And a lot of times their stories go overlooked.’
Amanda was previously engaged to musician Colin Sutherland, before splitting at an unknown time this past year.
